About Our Courses

“We now accept the fact that learning is a lifelong process of keeping abreast of change. And the most pressing task is to teach people how to learn.”
– Peter F. Drucker

Our courses are designed to help people get things done in the real world. Although the next statement doesn’t quite merit Newsflash status, it can still produce looks of concern in a room of professionals. Here it is: Leadership IQ (i.e., effective communication, project management, conflict resolution, team problem-solving) alone explains very little of work or life achievement. Emotional intelligence (EQ) plays a far larger role when you actually have to work with someone to get things done. In our courses, not only don’t we shy away from the EQ side of the equation, we go right at it. Then we use sustainable learning methodologies to create learning that not only sticks, but delivers improved effectiveness for the organization.

Active participation is essential to eliciting newly effective behaviors. Each course is designed to convert aha’s into practice. To that end, you and your people will apply each concept as it’s taught directly to the organization’s real challenges. The goal? Immediate application of course concepts to what matters most. Learners leave class energized because they’re ready to take action.

Emotional Intelligence: Why It Can Matter More Than IQ

IQ does not determine who succeeds and who fails. When IQ test scores are correlated with how well people perform in their careers, the highest estimate of how much difference IQ accounts for is about 25%. A careful analysis suggests a more accurate figure may be no higher than 10% and perhaps as low as 4%. This means that IQ alone leaves 75% of job success unexplained and at worst, 96%. The more complex the job, the more emotional intelligence matters.
